From early in my career I was leading on projects for major tech clients, including IBM, Microsoft, Cisco and Virgin. The scale and reputation that came with these big players afforded me a great deal of learning. I then shifted to working with international financial institutions, inspired by the science of economics and how money shaped our increasingly digital world.
Since then, my attention has been focused on organisations with purpose; those that generate a positive impact in a specific community. London’s Waste and Recycling Board (ReLondon), The Anna Freud Center (UK Trauma Council) and Creative Access are all doing great work that I’m proud to have been involved with recently.
Aside from my day-to-day running web apps, e-commerce platforms and bespoke websites, I also enjoy giving time to selected projects where I can use my experience to advise on strategy and technology. Planning a new digital entity that speaks directly of the organisation’s mission is hugely rewarding work. This could mean looking carefully at how to create impact within fixed timelines and budgets, providing innovative tech solutions, or mapping out the long-term success of a project and how to get there.
